Description:

Approximately 23,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in the late 1850s and early 1860s, most of them for the government. Standard one line New York address on left side of frame, 1856 patent date on right side of frame. Matching numbers on front of barrel lug, hammer well, and hammer with a mismatched cylinder (1921). Single letter inspector marks are present. Fitted with a smooth one- piece walnut grip with a script "ADK" cartouche on the left side.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 50% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The loading lever and hammer retain flashes of original case colors. The grip is fine with a sharp cartouche, some minor dings and scratches (more prevalent on the bottom). Mechanically excellent.
