Description:

The knives of the State Forest Service (Staatsforstdienst) served as both tools and badges, with ivory and white celluloid grips reserved for senior officials. 10 inch blade, with oak leaf etching on the spine, etched forest scenes on each side, and the Eickhorn logo on the left ricasso. Oak leaf decorated guard, with hoof shaped quillion, a gamebird on the clamshell languet and ivory grips with 3 silver acorn and oak leaf badges. Black leather sheath, with an acorn shaped frog stud and a bugling elk engraved on the tip.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. Light spotting and flaking of the finish on the blade, and dark spots near the strong etching. The hilt and scabbard throat and tip have been polished, with a darker color in the low areas. Grips are excellent, with attractive grain. Sheath is very good, with light scuffing.
