Description:

Included with this revolver are two letters. The first, from Colt, states this revolver was shipped as a 32-20 with blue finish and a 5 1/2 inch barrel to Holcomb & Miles, by way of Norvell Shapleigh Hardware Company of St Louis, on 4 December 1901. The second is from David Harris, Master Engraver, verifying his work and the revolver's current configuration. Fixed sights, with the two line Hartford address and "38 W.C.F." on the barrel, and the two line, three date patent markings on the frame next to the Rampant Colt. Full coverage engraving, done in Harris' "Texas Cattle Brand" style, backed with punch dots and showing a few areas of scroll accent. The left side of the muzzle bears the "2 (lazy 2) P" brand, a signature of both Harris and his mentor, Weldon Bledsoe, and the butt is signed "DWHARRIS" among scrollwork. Matching numbers on the frame and grip straps, with smooth two-piece grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine as custom engraved and plated, showing most of the thin nickel, with a few light handling marks overall, along with some areas of frosting. Some pitting is visible beneath the finish. Grips are imitation pearl, with light handling marks. Mechanically fine.
