Description:

Manufactured from 1903 to 1916. Heavy #2 part octagon barrel with folding Beach front sight, and the rear sight has been removed and a short range tang mounted peep sight installed. The top barrel flat is marked "J. STEVENS A. & T. CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A." and "25.20" on the upper left rear flat. The bottom of the barrel ahead of the forearm is marked with the matching serial number and "2" in marked under the forearm. The face of the receiver is marked "44 1/2". Blue barrel, hammer and breech block, casehardened remaining parts and fitted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 90% faded original blue finish. The receiver retains 60% plus original case colors with a smooth silver gray on the balance. The buttplate shows 20% original case colors and some light oxidation and gray patina on the balance. The lever has a smooth mottled grayish brown patina. The wood is fine with a few small minor gouges on the left side of the stock and overall some scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent.
