Issued to members of the Kriegsmarine U-boat Service, the War Badge required either a minimum of two enemy engagements or being injured in combat with the enemy. Gilt brass, 1 7/8 inch wide and 1 1/2 inch tall, with a wreath border, the Nazi eagle at top and the left facing submarine. The back is marked "SCHWERIN/BERLIN 68", with a broad blade pin.
