Produced in the 1920s, the "Wehrsportgewehr" or "Serviceman's Rifle" was intended to be the standard service target rifle and fired a 8.15mm X 46r lead bullet. Blade front and fully adjustable tangent rear sights, with an adjustable peep sight mounted to the rear of the receiver. Solid wall single shot receiver, with the Mauser banner on the ring, address on the sidewall, and crown B, G, U, and N, proofs on the side. Matching numbers. Smooth pistol grip stock, with forearm grasping grooves, sling swivels and a smooth buttplate.

Excellent, with 98% of the bright original high polish finish remaining with wear limited to the muzzle and bolt. The stock is very fine, with numerous dents and scratches. The peep sight interferes with the bolt, otherwise mechanically excellent.
