Description:

Manufactured in 1944. The left side of the slide is marked "REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A .", the left side of the frame is marked with the "FJA" inspectors marking and "P" next to the magazine release. The right side of the frame is marked with the cross cannon cartouche behind the grip, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" ahead of that. The barrel is marked "P" and "S" on the left side of the lug. Checkered stamped trigger, thumb safety and narrow hammer, serrated slide stop and arched main spring housing with a lanyard ring on the butt and blue magazine marked "S" on top of the toe. Fitted with checkered Keyes fibre grips with reinforcing rings around the screws and marked with the five point star, with "K" in the center and the number "16" on the inside.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 85% plus thin original parkerized finish with some high edge and normal usage wear, and some thinning on the front strap. The barrel has been polished bright in the chamber area. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
