Description:

Blade front and sliding leaf rear sights on the bright barrel. Casehardened receiver, with "MODEL 1871" on left side, two line Remington patent markings on the upper tang, and eagle motif over "U.S./SPRINGFIELD 1872" on the right side. Smooth stock with two barrel bands, script ESA cartouche on the wrist, sling swivels and "US" marked buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel and buttplate have a mottled brown-gray patina with some minor pitting on the buttplate. The receiver retains 80% plus original case colors. The stock is also very fine with some scattered minor pressure dents and dings along with a series of deep dents near the rear barrel band. The cartouche is clear and crisp.
