Description:

1) Hospital Corps knife, 12 inch blade, etched "HOSPITAL CORPS/U.S. ARMY." in a panel on the left side. Ribbed wood grip, with nickel finished guard and pommel cap. With a black leather Rock Island scabbard, fitted with a brass "R.I.A" cartridge belt hook. 2) Springfield Armory Model 1880 Hunting Knife, 8 1/2 inch long, 2 inch wide blade, with "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" and "975" on the brass guard, and "D" stamped on the base of the ribbed wood grip. Brown leather sheath, with brass and steel reinforced throat and "M.M.S." stamped on the belt loop.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, with some minor frosting of the blade and fading at the edge of the panel. White spots are visible on the grip, with cracking and scuffs on the leather. 2) Very good, with mild spotting on the blade, traces of a nickel finish on the guard, and minor dents on the grip. The sheath is poor, with a replaced belt loop, cracking, and cuts.
