Description:

This is a very nice example of a mid-WWII US Army contract, M1 Garand rifle as manufactured by Springfield Armory. The rifle has a standard WWII Springfield Armory receiver that was produced in late 1943. The barrel is marked 3-S-A-7-43 with a small, single "P" proof at the end of the markings. The bolt is a late WWII version marked "D28287-18SA" and the operating rod is a late post war version that is marked, "7790722-SA". It has a Winchester marked trigger group along with a post war gas cylinder assembly and rear sight assembly. It is currently fitted with a very nice unmarked, GI walnut stock and hand guard set. It is complete with an original, jointed M10 cleaning rod set. The set remains in it's original packaging that is dated January 1954. This lot is complete with an original GI style chamber brush and plastic oiler in the butt stock trap.

Rating Definition:

Arsenal refurbished with 99% parkerized finish. The only noticeable finish wear on the rifle is some minor wear on the right side receiver rail and on the bolt lugs, from cycling the action. The stock, and hand guard set is in like new condition with minimal handling marks. This would make an excellent representative example of a wartime M1 Garand rifle.
