Measuring 10 inches across and 11 3/4 inches tall, this brass plate depicts the traditional symbol of the Ordnance Corps, with a belt encircling a pair of crossed cannons, and a flaming grenade perched between them. Black paint has been applied to the belt and grenade, with red paint on the flame and "ORDNANCE CORPS U.S.A." in raised letters on the belt. No markings are present on the rear. According to the consignor, this plaque was recovered from a building at Aberdeen Proving Ground that was shut down and demolished circa 2005.

Rating Definition:

Very good as period repainted, with a fine aged patina and some mild paint loss.
