Part of a matched set. Made in Japan. This Custom Grade features an all blue finish with finely floral scroll engraved receiver with gold highlighted images of John Wayne on both sides, with a gold banner reading "1907 JOHN WAYNE AMERICAN 2007" on the left side and a gold banner reading "COURAGE STRENGTH GRIT" and a second reading "JOHN WAYNE ' JW / CENTENNIAL" on the right side. The left side of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER Model 1892 John Wayne Custom Grade - - Caliber 44-40 Win ONLY" and the top has John Wayne's signature in gold ahead of the rear sight. The forward sides of the large loop lever are engraved with the same fine floral scroll as the receiver. Brass blade front and adjustable folding rear carbine sights. Saddle ring and staple attached to the left rear of the receiver and mounted with a nicely figured Fluer di Lis checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a steel carbine buttplate and gold inset commemorative medallion on the right side. Complete with the original box numbered to the gun, hard leather case with antique brass hardware, leather John Wayne patch on the lid, brown cloth lining with large leather Winchester patch on the inside of the lid. Also has box for the case and shipping box.

This High Grade carbine has the same features as "A", with a silvered receiver , barrel bands and large loop lever and blue on the remaining parts. The barrel marking is identical except "High Grade" marked and the engraving designs are identical, but with dark highlighting. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock, with a silver commemorative medallion on the right side of the stock. Complete with original box numbered to the gun. This carbine does not have the case.
