Manufactured in 1902. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the two line nickel steel/smokeless powder marking and the top at the breech is marked "30 U.S.". The left side of the receiver is marked with the two line address/patent dates, the upper tang is marked "WINCHESTER/MODEL 1895" with dashes between the lines and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. Pinned blade front and adjustable rear sporting sights, blue finish and mounted with a checkered walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a flat checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate.
Fine as partially refinished. The barrel has a smooth mottled grayish patina with strong original blue in the protected areas. The remaining metal surfaces retain 70% thin original blue finish with a smooth artificial brown patina on the left side and chamber area on the receiver. The receiver is tapped for a Lyman 5A sight which is absent and replaced with filler screws. The revarnished wood is fine with only a few overall scattered minor dings and handling marks, and a few minor chips in the otherwise crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
