Description:

1) This Lyle muzzle loading line throwing cannon was manufactured by Heat Transfer Products Inc. and has a 2 1/2 inch bore and a 28 inch long steel barrel. The front of the muzzle is stamped "269 11 4 43 JRB" and the left side of the cannon near the breech is stamped "H 10450 /123". A brass Heat Transfer Products data plate with the serial number A213 is positioned behind the touch hole and "F / WNL" stamped ahead of the touch hole. Brass hardware and iron carriage. 2) Metal casting of a naval cannoneer with flat back, measures 32 inches long and has been mounted to a pine board for hanging purposes.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good. The cannon has a mottled gray patina with some minor pitting. The brass has an overall bright appearance. 2) Fine, with a repair on right leg and a mixed aged patina.
