Description:

1) This Spanish-American War commemorative cannon has "REMEMBER THE MAINE" in raised letters on both sides of the gloss black painted iron carriage with bright accents on the wheels. The cannon measures nearly 11 inches long and is nickel plated. 2) Antique cast iron cap gun with ornate cast grip and cannon shapped striker.

Rating Definition:

1) Very fine, with 80% of the original nickel finish remaining with the balance a smooth gray patina showing light flaking and a series of dings on the undersized near the muzzle. The carriage retains 95% original paint. The muzzle end of the cannon drops in a resting position. 2) Very good, with a mixed patina. Action functions properly.
