Lot 46: Grice Marked Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss

The lock plate is script marked "Grice". The top barrel flat is script marked "London" and the upper left barrel flat is stamped with two British proofs. The barrel, trigger guard, ramrod pipes and buttplate are brass. The trigger guard has an acorn finial. Mounted on a smooth straight grip stock with a flat buttplate and a brass initial oval behind the barrel tang. The blunderbuss has a brass tipped wooden ramrod.

Very good. The brass has an even aged patina with a darker patina in the protected areas. The action has a mottled gray patina with some minor flash pitting. The stock is very good with a crack on the left flat and a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically good.
