The German silver barrel is marked "UNWIN & RODGERS/PATENTEES. SHEFFIELD" on the left flat, "NON * XLL" on the right and with Birmingham proofmarks on the left quarter flat. The 2 inch spear knife and 3 inch clip point blade are marked "UNWIN &/RODGERS/PATENT" on the left ricasso. The knife and pistol are enclosed in a German silver case with smooth horn scales riveted to the sides. It has a folding lid compartment for caps in the back strap. Cocking the hammer opens the breech for loading or unloading with the ears on the extractor acting as the rear sight.

Very good plus. The barrel is very fine with crisp markings, The scales are good with a few large chips of horn missing. Mechanically fine. Blade is a lightly pitted dark patina.
