Description:

These rare iron frame Knuckle-Dusters were manufactured toward the end of production, circa 1881-82 in the serial number range of 17,373 to 17,715, with a total production of only 270. The right side of the top strap is marked "J. REID NEW YORK" and the lower left side of the frame is marked "22 CAL". The serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and the partial serial number "66" is marked on the cylinder pin head and rear face of the cylinder. Standard floral scroll engraving on the frame.

Rating Definition:

Good. The cylinder retains 75% original nickel finish with an area of minor pitting that has been cleaned and the frame retains traces original nickel finish, concentrated on the back strap with a gray patina on the balance showing some minor pitting. The action functions but has a hair trigger. The markings and engraving are clear.
