This is an example of one of an estimated 1,800 deringers manufactured from 1868 to 1870 by L.B. Taylor & Co. The top barrel flat is stamped with the one line Chicopee address. The barrel which is numbered to the gun slides forward for loading/unloading with the release on the underside of the frame. The brass frame is fitted with smooth grips.

Very fine. The barrel retains 75% bright original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The brass has an attractive aged patina. The front sight blade is missing. The grips are fine with some chipping and a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
