U.S. Harpers Ferry Model 1819 Hall Patent Breech Loading Flintlock Rifle Dated 1831

Blade front and notch rear sights, properly offset to the left, with the breechblock marked "J.H. HALL/H. FERRY/ US/1831" perpendicular to the bore. The breech catch is the proper "trigger" design, with the extended pistol grip trigger guard. Smooth straight grip stock with steel button head ramrod, sling swivels, three barrel bands and smooth flat buttplate.

ConditionFair. With the exception of the breechblock, the metal surfaces have much of a protective coat of varnish remaining which has a brownish appearance. The breechblock has a smooth dark lightly pitted patina. There is a small amount of minor pitting on the sides of the receiver. The hammer has been repaired by reattaching the top jaw back to the base. The stock is fair with an old wood filler repair on top of the wrist at the receiver and an area on the right rear of the buttstock that has been sanded and touched up. Otherwise there is a light coat of varnish that has been applied and a few minor handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
