This French pistol was manufactured circa 1813 as a flintlock and was subsequently converted to percussion by a French armory. There are no lock markings, the barrel tang is marked "M, AN 13", the top of the barrel at the breech "F. 752.", "B 1813" on the left side and script "P" on the right. There is a "crown/G" on the barrel band, trigger guard, buttcap and left side plate. Brass mounting with the barrel band having an integral piece that attaches by screw to the left side plate, iron ramrod with button head and mounted with a smooth walnut stock.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal surfaces have a mix of brown and silver gray patina with some pin prick type pitting. The non-ferrous surfaces appear to have a brass plating that has flaked off leaving 20%, with a dull patina appearance on the balance. The stock is also very good with a minor crack extending from the front of the lock forward, the buttcap is a bit ill-fitting and overall there are some minor dents and dings. The percussion nipple tip is broken off, otherwise the action is fine.
