Description:

This is a Czar Nicholas II era officer's helmet for the Czar's personal guard. The skull, front peak and lobstertail are all gilt metal. At the top there is a large gilt highly detailed, two-headed eagle with the Romanov crown. On the eagles breast is a shield with St. George and a dragon on it. The helmet front has a rayed silver star with a blue enamel circle with cyrillic writing translated to "For Faith and Loyalty" in an arch over the Order of St. Andrew. The gilt chin scales are backed with leather. The helmet has an Imperial cockade on the right side. The front peak and lobstertail are lined with black velvet. The sweat band is tan leather and there is a brown fabric lining.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, the gilt components are bright with some very minor wear on the high edges. The silvered star and metal edging are slightly tarnished. The cockade has some wear. The helmet liner shows minor wear and remains very good. The velvet and lining have some minor wear.
