Description:

This is a Nicholas II era Other Ranks Artillery of the Guard Shako. The body is composed of blue felt with a black patent leather top and front peak. There is red and white trim around the top edge with red piping at the bottom edge. There is an oval orange and blue field badge at the top over a banner marked with Russian text, underneath is a silvered rayed star plate with a blue enameled center with Russian text around the two-headed eagle. There are crossed cannons underneath the star plate and one on each side above the circular ear bosses which suspend scalloped chin scales. There is a black leather sweat band and gray cotton lining.

Rating Definition:

Very good, the leather has some scratches, crazing and mild wear. The felt has some mild wear. The gilt edging on the peak has cracks and dents on the underside. Overall the silver has an aged patina. The sweat band has moderate wear and the lining has some wear.
