Description:

This other ranks lance cap is from the Kaiser Wilhelm I era. Uhlans were a form of light cavalry that carried lances. They were copied by various nations including Germany. The skull, peak and mortar board are all steel with a back coating. The mortar board has a field badge that is white with a black center and the backside is green. There is a brass German eagle wearing a crown, holding a scepter and holding an orb badge on the front marked "FR" on his chest, and "MIT GOTT FUR KOENIG UND VATERLAND" across the wings. There are two brass circular ear bosses. The inside has a leather liner.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished, the outside shows tool marks on the circular part of the mortar board, some separation of the mortar board top and some pitting under the finish. The field badge is a reproduction. The brass components are all bright with some minor verdigris in the protected areas. The interior has oxidation and the liner is good.
