Description:

This is a Czar Nicholas II era Russian Foot Guard Other Ranks shako. The body is composed of blue felt with the top and peak of black patent leather. There is an orange and blue field badge at the top center above a banner with Russian text. There is a rayed star plate on the front with a blue circle containing Russian text with a green circle in the center with the two-headed eagle. There is yellow and red trim along the top edge and red trim along the bottom. Two oval ear bosses suspend velvet backed chin scales. The sweat band is black leather with a gray cotton liner.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, the patent leather shows some scratches, some crazing and light flaking. The felt has some wear and insect tracking. The brass components have a generally bright appearance. The silvered components have a dark aged patina. The sweat band shows some wear.
