Description:

This is a Prussian Army other ranks reserve light cavalry cap. It is composed almost entirely of black patent leather. The top has a mortar board with a cap line hook on the top right and a bullion feldzeichen (oval field badge) on the left. There is a large German eagle wearing a crown with "FR" on its breast holding a scepter and globus cruciger. There is a gold iron cross between the legs of the eagle and it is marked "For King and Country" in German over "1813". The left side has a small circular ear boss and the right has the same boss with a larger red/white/black boss with serrated edge. The chin scales are backed with leather. The inside is lined in white silk with a natural leather sweatband.

Rating Definition:

Very good, the leather has some scratches, indentions and crazing. The metal components are good with an attractive patina. The interior is good with some wear and staining.
