This is an example of a very late 1940 production "P" code commercial Krieghoff Luger pistol, with a black commercial holster, two magazines and takedown tool. These Lugers were a continuation of the first series "P" code pistols but were produced at the end of commercial production in late 1940. These are noted and described on pages 220 and 221 of the book "The Krieghoff Parabellum" by Gibson. It is estimated that approximately 200 of this series were produced. This specific pistol has the blank chamber area and blank toggle with only a commercial "Eagle/N" proof mark on the frame, barrel and barrel extension indicating commercial sale. This pistol has the high polish Krieghoff blue finish with the straw colored smaller parts and is fitted with the earlier commercial brown plastic grips with the fine checkering and smooth border. This pistol is accompanied with one original matching magazine that has the "122/Eagle 37" proof on magazine body and one "fxo/Eagle37" proof that is unnumbered. This pistol is complete with an early unmarked, black leather holster and an original Krieghoff proofed takedown tool.

Excellent plus with 99% of the original blue finish with edge and high spot wear. The grips are also excellent plus with no handling marks. The holster is very fine, with exception of internal modification of body (by trimming some leather at the top) with nice tight stitching and good color overall with minimal handling marks.
