Description:

According to the included notarized letter from LTC (Ret) Thomas Johnson, author of several texts on German edged weapons, this is a top notch example of a Weyersberg Model 411 officers army sword. 30 inch single fuller blade, with the "MWM/WAFFEN" logo on the left ricasso. Gilt finished brass hilt, with an acorn quillion, Nazi Eagle on the right languet, blank inscription oval on the left, rounded pommel and a wire wrapped black celluloid grip. With a green leather portapee with silver wire and a solid silver acorn, and a black enamel finished scabbard. Also included are photocopies out of reference works cited by LTC Johnson in his letter.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, showing minor handling marks overall. The hilt retains 95% of the original gilt finish, showing a fine aged patina on the pommel and high points. The portapee is very fine, with mild wear. Scabbard shows some mild spotting.
