Barrel: 5 1/2 inch round
Finish: blue
Grip: walnut

Item Views: 5570
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 199
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

This is an example of a very early production Model 900 Broomhandle style pistol as produced by the Astra factory in Spain. These pistols were a very close copy of the original 1986 Mauser Broomhandle pistol and were originally introduced in the 1926-28 time frame and were designed to compete with Mauser for world wide sales. This excellent pistol has a standard blade front and tangent rear sight graduated from 50-1,000 meters. It has the standard frame, "ASTRA" AUTOMATIC PISTOL CAL. 7.63 m/m with the correct factory proof marks on the right side of the frame and barrel. It has the standard small ring hammer, thumb safety and internal box type magazine. It is fitted with a set of 12-groove walnut grips and a lanyard ring on the bottom of the frame with a slotted back strap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the much faded original blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear, with some slight blue loss on the left side of the frame rail, with solid blue on the grip straps. The grips are very good showing a dark finish, with minor handling marks on both sides. A very nice example of an early Astra 900 semi-automatic pistol.

Catalog Page: 199
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

This is an excellent example of an original unaltered 1921 (model 400) Astra pistol. These pistols were chosen in 1921 to replace the early Gampo-Giro pistol and served with the Spanish military until 1946 when they were replaced by the Star automatic pistols. The top front section is marked with the large circular ASTRA logo, with the rear section marked "ESPERANZA Y UNCETA/GUERNICA ESPANA/PISTOLA DE 9 m/m MODELO 1921". The right side of the frame and slide have the correct matching serial number (39298). It is complete with an original (non-matching) 1921 Mark Astra shipping box, spare magazine and instruction manual. Both magazines are correctly marked with the Astra Logo on the bottom of the base plate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% plus of the original blue finish with minor edge and high spot wear only. The grips are also excellent with nice distinct checkering on both sides with only some minor wear from light use and handling with a small minor pressure dents at the very top edge of the right grip. The box is very fine with clear sharp markings overall, intact corners and hinge showing only minor scuffing from handling and storage. A very nice example of an early Astra semi-automatic pistol.
