This is a solid representative example of a 1942 production P.08 Mauser Luger pistol. The top of the chamber area is dated 42 and front toggle is marked "byf", the wartime code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "eagle/135" acceptance proofs next to the single eagle firing proof, with the latter repeated on the barrel and breechblock. The upper safety area and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" respectively and it has the late "P.08" markings on the left side of frame. Blue unmarked reproduction magazine with black plastic base. It is fitted with the late style black plastic checkered grips. All external numbers are matching.

Fine as partially refinished. The pistol retains 70% original blue finish with some scattered areas of cold blue touch up on the muzzle, side plate and frame rails. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings in the otherwise crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
