Single bead front sight on a concaved matte rib, marked "W.W. GREENER. HAYMARKET LONDON & St MARY'S SQUARE BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS, 1875, 1877, 1878 & 1879". with Birmingham proofs and "CHOKE" marked on the underside and flats. The breech end of the barrels features fine English scroll engraving with a crane on the rib at the breech. 2 1/2 inch chambers, choked modified/full with ejectors. The action features fine English scroll engraving with a hunting dog and "W.W. GREENER" in a banner on each side and two game birds on the bottom. The engraving pattern extends to the trigger guard, break lever and forearm hardware. There is a gold inlaid crown on the break lever and there is a wooded game bird scene over the serial number on the lower tang. Double triggers, Greener safety with engraving and mounted with a checkered walnut splinter forearm with horn forend insert and round knob pistol grip stock with horn inserts on the end of the flats, checkered horn buttplate and gold initial oval inscribed "John Cummings Jr/Ithaca,N.Y.". Complete with a canvas covered hard takedown case with leather straps, corner protectors and handle with thick green felt. In the case is a chamber brush and nickel oiler. Length of pull is 13 5/8 inches.

Partially refinished, the barrels with 98% blue finish remaining. The trigger guard retains 50% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The action and break lever have a smooth gray patina. The wood is excellent with only a few minor dents and handling marks, with recut checkering. The engraving and markings are clear. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent.
