Description:

This is an excellent example of a U.S. Military 1945 production Colt Service Model Ace. The left side of the receiver has the Ordnance Corps Cross-Cannon stamped just behind the plastic stocks and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/S M 13313" in two lines behind the slide stop hole. The left front trigger guard bow is stamped with the Colt "VP" proof mark with the right side stamped with a "77" assembly number. The Ordnance Inspector's mark "J.S.B." is stamped vertically below the slide stop lever. The slide has the standard Service Ace markings on the right side and Colt's patent dates and Hartford address in two unbroken lines followed by the Rampant Colt motif on the left. The slide is properly not serial numbered to the receiver, and is fitted with the Stevens rear adjustable sight and short ramp style front sight blade with a serrated face. This example also features: checkered brown plastic grips with large reinforcing rings around the screw holes and internal ribs, milled checkered trigger, checkered arched mainspring housing, checkered wide hammer and checkered slide catch and thumb safety. The magazine has the two-tone finish and the bottom of the floor plate is marked "COLT/22 ACE L.R./SERVICE MODEL".

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% original factory parkerized finish showing scattered light scratches, a tiny spot of wear on the front grip strap and bottom of the trigger guard, with some sharp edge wear, with clear original markings. The grips are excellent with some handling marks, with sharp overall checkering. Mechanically excellent.
