Formed in the 1940s by John Pederson, inventor of the Pederson Device for the Model 1903 Springfield Rifle. Michigan furniture makers, Irwin-Pederson manufactured approximately 150,000 M1 carbines before the Ordnance Department canceled their contract, making the Irwin-Pederson the most scarce of all of the M1 Carbines. Blade front and flip up rear sights, marked "IN" and "S" inside a shield respectively, with an Underwood "2-43" dated barrel marked with the "flaming bomb. Type 3 barrel band, flat bolt, flip safety, milled guard with "LGKST/1939" stamped behind the "M" marked magazine release. Walnut stock, with a 2-rivet handguard, oval oiler cutout with "TRIMBLE TN" in the sling cutout stamped "AAM" on the left side with "P" proof on the pistol grip. Blue 15 round magazine marked "IA". Complete with the "ORDNANCE FIELD SERVICE/TECHNICAL BULLETIN NO. 23-7-1" for the M1 carbine, CMP "Rifle safety manual" and a CMP shipping carton.

Rating Definition:

Very good as arsenal refurbished. The carbine retains 60% of the faded, thin parkerized finish with some sharp edge wear and marks from use and handling. The barrel shows overall spotting with some discoloration on the receiver and bolt. The sling loop is bent and shows signs of oxidation. The wood is very good as replaced/refinished with wear and marks from use and handling. Some dings are visible on the forestock and buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
