Description:

This is an excellent as issued example of a late WWII M1 Carbine that was produced by Inland which has been fitted with the M1A1 Paratrooper carbine folding stock, that is still packed in the original cosmoline grease after being rebuilt by the army. The carbine is marked on the front receiver "US CARBINE/CAL 30 M1" and on the rear of the receiver under the rear sight it is marked "INLAND DIV" over "6265226". The barrel is marked "INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/10-44". The folding paratrooper stock has the original GI metal folding buttplate with the correct cast in part number of "8257614" with the original folding metal frame and leather cheek piece. The handguard and pistol grip are made of walnut and the forend/stock assembly is made from birch, and the bottom of the pistol grip is marked on the bottom, "RI-3" with a small crossed cannon cartouche on the right side which may indicate a Korean war replacement. It has been fitted with mix of early and late war components such as the round bolt, adjustable rear sight, four rivet hand guard with an early push button safety and type two barrel band.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 99% original parkerized finish with arsenal overhauled stock. The carbine still retains cosmoline inside the action and bore with some still remaining on the outside of the metal and stock. The stock and handguard are both excellent with a dark brown matching color overall with several pressure dents on the left side of the stock and handguard where the folding stock hits the sides. There is no magazine or sling with this carbine.
