Description:

This is an excellent example of a U.S. Eddystone Contract Model 1917 rifle with "9-18" dated barrel. The rifle has a blue finish with oiled walnut stock and handguard. The Eddystone "E" mark is visible on some of the components. The receiver is marked "U.S/MODEL OF 1917/EDDYSTONE/1018896". The barrel is marked "E/ordnance bomb/9-18". The ordinance bomb is stamped on the left side of the receiver and on the bolt handle. Eagle head ordnance final inspection stamps are located on the bolt release lever, top of the left side receiver wall and on the safety lever. The left side cartouche is stamped "OGEK." To the rear of the trigger guard there is a eagle head with a "48" stamped below it on the stock.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrel retains 95% original blue finish. The receiver retains 97% original blue finish showing minor edge wear from use. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The stock is also excellent with some minor storage dings and pressure dents.
