Description:

Manufactured in 1913. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "(BISLEY MODEL) 41 COLT." on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial number on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Standard blade front and notch rear sights, casehardened frame and hammer, with blue on the remaining parts, and fitted with fancy checkered walnut grips. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 to Wm. Read and Sons Boston, Massachusetts, for Marrall Stearns on October 2, 1913.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 70% plus original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, some thinning to a smooth gray patina on the outer edge of the ejector housing and smooth brown patina on the grip straps, minor scratches and drag line on the cylinder, as well as some minor pitting on the cylinder. The front sight has had a bead added during period of usage along with sight slot having been notched. The frame retains 75% original case colors with a small area of minor pitting on the recoil shield. The hammer retains 90% original bright case colors. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings and handling marks, with crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
