Colt Single Action Army revolver manufactured in 1897. The revolver has a full nickel plated finish, fitted with smooth two-piece mother of pearl grips and decorated with factory scroll engraving on a punch-dot background. The engraving was executed by Hartley & Graham and is very similar to Colt "B" engraving of the same period. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped with the two-line legend: "COLT'S PT. F.A. Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.". The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped with the caliber designation, "45 COLT" in an engraved panel. The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the Colt 'Three-Date/Two-Line' patent markings in an oval engraved panel. The assembly number, "135" is stamped on the loading gate. The serial number, "169693" is stamped on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, nickel finish, factory engraving, hard rubber grips at the time of shipment which was to Hartley & Graham, New York, N.Y. on March 25, 1897. The revolver is accompanied by a hand tooled, russet, saddle leather," Mexican Loop" holster and matching 43-round cartridge belt. The holster is decorated with a silver concho and hand tooled floral designs with a leather lining. The holster loops are stamped with "swastika" style marks which at this period of time were viewed as good luck symbols. The folded leather cartridge/money belt has a silver-plated buckle.

Very fine. The revolver shows moderate wear and retains 60% of the nickel-plated finish. The cylinder and muzzle have the greatest finish wear. The engraving and markings are sharp. The grips are in good-very good with some age yellowing and several small chips on the edges. The action is crisp but does not hold at half-cock. The holster rig is very good overall. The holster stitching is tight and the holster shows moderate wear. The cartridge belt shows heavy wear. The stitching is loose on several of the cartridge loops. This is a good looking engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver with period western holster and cartridge belt rig.
