Manufactured in 1891. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.Co. HARTFORD CT.U.S.A.". and "38 W.C.F." on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked with the two-line three date patent markings followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Blue finish with casehardened hammer and frame, blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with checkered Rampant Colt/American Eagle relief grips.

Refinished showing 70% blue finish remaining with some muzzle wear, thinning, wear and a drag line on the cylinder and a smooth brownish gray on the grip straps, thinning on the trigger guard. The frame and hammer retain 95% case colors. The heavily used grips have faded to brown and remain fair with worn checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
