Manufactured in 1932. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address and "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 45" on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" proofmark and the number "3". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the grip straps under the grip. The assembly number on the loading gate is unreadable. Casehardened frame and hammer with blue on the remaining parts. Modified blade front sight with ivory bead and top frame notch rear sight (filed to widen) and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top.

Rating Definition:

Fine as period modified (see above). The revolver retains 75% original blue finish with some muzzle wear and wear on the muzzle end of the ejector housing, some flaking on the left side of the barrel, a drag line and normal usage scratches on the cylinder with a brown patina on the grip straps. The frame shows 25% original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The later production replacement grips are very fine having faded to brown, with crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
