Manufactured in 1886. The top of the barrel has the two line Hartford address with "COLT D.A. 38" on the left, "A" on the left side of the trigger guard and the three line patent markings on the frame. Equipped with a niter blue hammer and trigger, a shortened cylinder pin and a pair of checkered bird's head grips with Rampant Colt logos.

Very fine, with 80% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edges and scattered handling marks. The front sight has been cut flat along the trailing edge. Strong case colors are present on the frame, with some mild spotting and bright spots on the high edges. Grips are fine, with a sun-faded brown color on the left panel, dark on the right, with some smoothing and mild pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
