Third issue manufactured in 1940. These popular revolvers featured elevation adjustable blade front and windage adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked on the top with the two line address/patent date (1884-1926) and the left side is marked "COLT OFFICERS/MODEL/.22 LONG RIFLE". The Rampant Colt is marked on the left side plate and the left side upper corners of the trigger guard are marked with the "VP" proof and "Y". Fitted with checkered grips with silver Colt medallions, this revolver also features a checkered trigger, checkered hammer with polished sides, checkered back grip strap and a knurled exposed ejector rod. The front sight has a red bead and the rear sight has a half moon white underline. The top, back, and rear grip frame are matte finish. Includes the original box numbered to the gun.

Excellent with 98% plus original finish showing very few minor handling scratches, light turn line on the cylinder and some very minor sharp edge wear, with crisp original markings. The grips are excellent, showing minor handling with sharp checkering. The box shows wear, with the front side of the lid missing and one end having come off, but included, and the lid has become detached from the bottom. The end label is approximately 50% intact.
