Gauge: 71
Barrel: 8 1/2 inch round
Finish: bright
Grip: walnut

Class: Antique
Description:

Manufactured circa 1813-1815, only 1150 were delivered on the Government contract (Which was to be 20,000!). This model is historically significant in that it was the first arms contract in which the pistol had to have interchangeable parts. Brass blade front sight, with "P/US" on the upper left flat, and "S.NORTH/U(eagle)S/MIDLN CON." on the lock plate below the brass flashpan. Smooth stock, with a hardwood ramrod, split barrel band, a faint cartouche on the left side, and iron furniture

Rating Definition:

Very good in original flintlock configuration, with a brown patina overall, areas of dark spotting, scattered pitting and mild handling marks. A darker, crisp gray patina is visible on the lock hardware. Markings are sharp. Stock is fine as repaired, with a patch near the barrel band, cracks and scuffs. Mechanically good.
