Fixed front blade sight mounted on the front barrel band, no rear sight (correct), bayonet lug mounted on the underside of the barrel, sling swivel on the middle barrel band and on the front of the trigger guard, iron ramrod with a trumpet head. Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The metal has a bright appearance showing some overall scattered minor pitting on the barrel and lock, as well as some minor dings on the barrel. Markings on the metal are crisp and very legible. The stock is also very good with a few minor dents. A "T" was cut into the stock directly behind the lower tang some time ago. The cartouche is lightly visible. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent. A solid representative example of a U.S. Model 1842 Springfield Musket.
