Description:

Manufactured circa 1858 to 1863. Lawrence folding rear sight graduated to 800 yards. The top of the barrel is marked with the three line Sharps address ahead of the rear sight and "NEW MODEL 1859" at the breech. The lock is marked with the Sharps and Lawrence patent dates and the upper left side of the receiver is marked with the Sharps patent date. The rear sight base is marked with the three line Lawrence patent marking. The serial number is marked on the upper tang. Brass blade front and folding carbine rear sights and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with iron patch box and buttplate. Saddle ring mounted on the left side of the stock wrist with the initials, "C.W.H" on the plate.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal surfaces have a crisp, untouched smooth mottled brown patina. The stock is also very good with some minor dents and dings overall. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
