Description:

1) This is an officer's letter box of the 11th Hussars. Composed of black leather covered wood with a gilt Victorian crown at the top over a gilt Prince of Wales crest next to a gilt Prince Albert crest over a gilt banner marked "PRINCE ALBERTS OWN HUSSARS" over a gilt "sphinx/EGYPT" battle honor. The interior is lined with red leather. 2) This is an officer's dress crossbelt pouch for the 11th Hussars. The body is composed of red leather with a brass gilt front plate with applied silver trim. There is a silvered crown over "VR" double reverse cypher with four battle honors at the top over a silvered banner marked "PRINCE ALBERTS OWN HUSSARS" with a "Sphinx/EGYPT" battle honor in the center and a silvered laurel leaf wreath with four battle honors on it. There are two gilt belt loops with floriated hardware.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, there is some minor wear, some small indentations and some scattered light scratches overall. The gilt components have a bright appearance. 2) Fine, the gilt components have a bright appearance with the silver components having a dark aged patina. The red leather has some minor wear.
