Description:

This is an officer's dress sabretache for Prince Albert's Own Hussars. The body is composed of dark red leather with the front flap having a red velvet background with an a wide strip of gold lace around the outside edge, there is a gold bullion embroidered crown at the top over a banner marked "PRINCE ALBERT'S OWN HUSSARS" with a large "VR" double reversed cypher over four gold bullion battle honors in banners with a silvered "sphinx/EGYPT" battle honor badge. The inside of the large flap has a paper "ANDREWS,/Helmet Maker & r." label. The inside of the small flap has a name handwritten in ink "E. Cortritt".

Rating Definition:

Very good, there are some stains and darkening of the gold bullion and lace on the front flap. The silver badge has a dark aged patina. There is some minor wear overall.
