Description:

This is a Victorian era officer's 1880 pattern forage cap for The Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment. The body is dark blue melton cloth. The peak is black leather with a row of gold bullion. Black lace cap band and a bullion Regimental cap badge of a rampant lion holding an unfurled banner within a crown. The top has a coiled cord and lace decoration. The interior has a leather sweatband and silk lining.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, the blue cloth is excellent. The bullion on the badge and peak has aged. The sweatband has some tears. The lining is stained.
