Lilley address etched on the left ricasso, floral etching on each side, eagle with "E/PLURIBUS/UNUM" banner on the right, "United States Medical Staff" on the left. Gilt brass hilt, with "MS" over 13 stars on the right languet, feathery wing shaped guards, raised oak leaf and acorn patterns, and a standing eagle on one side. Gilt brass scabbard, with a raised star pattern on the upper suspension band, stars and leafy vines on the midband, and oak leaves on the tip.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine, with some minor spotting and handling marks on the excellent blade, showing an attractive bright steel appearance overall, and sharp, well defined etching. The hilt and scabbard retain 75% of the original gilt finish, strongest in the protected areas, with a fine aged brass color on the exposed areas.
