Description:

32 1/4 inch double fuller blade, with "IRON:PROOF" on the spine, the Clauberg (Solingen) makers mark on the left ricasso, and an etched decorative panel on each side of the blade around the mid-point. Gilt finished hilt, with cut through floral, vine and "US" designs on the guard and a wire wrapped rayskin grip. Iron scabbard, with floral and patriotic engraving on the gilt hardware.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with areas of spotting on the otherwise extremely fine blade, light dings on the edge, and sharp etching. Hilt is good as cleaned, with a mixed aged patina and mild wear on the grip. A mixed gray patina is showing on the scabbard, exposed aged brass on the fittings, and some mild dents.
