Description:

Manufactured from 1863 to 1875. The revolver has an 8 inch barrel and blue finish, casehardened hammer, fire blue trigger and brass trigger guard. The top barrel flat is marked "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEW YORK. U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". The barrel is mis-matched (82724). Small single letter inspection marks "J", "W" and "F" are stamped on most components. Fitted with smooth walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 20% original blue finish, mainly on the frame and in protected areas with a brown patina on the balance. There is some minor pitting on the frame around the cylinder. The bent out of shape trigger guard has been cleaned some time ago and remains bright showing several minor dents. The grips are good with some wear and minor chips on the lower edge and overall some minor dents. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
